Steam Mills

For the Steam Mills project, Watson & Gabb delivered a bold, material-driven kitchen defined by bespoke surface innovation and sculptural form. The feature tall cabinets showcase a unique charred-effect finish across the doors and end panels, developed through in-house research and casting techniques to faithfully replicate the client’s specified texture while ensuring long-term durability and performance. This striking vertical element is balanced by heavily patinated cabinetry throughout the remaining space, creating a monolithic, metallic presence that extends seamlessly across the island and surrounding joinery. Solid brass finger rails, handless sharknose detailing and precision-crafted oak dovetail drawers further elevate the composition, while crown-cut veneered oak interiors reflect the same level of craftsmanship throughout. The result is a cohesive, statement kitchen that blends experimental material design with refined, functional execution.
