A modern take on the art deco linear treatment with a nod towards traditional gilding. Fractured Gesso plays forward ancient treatments of plasterwork. Usually applied using gold leaf, Watson & Gabb present this finish in a modern context; using a variety of metals glazes. Each panel is created by hand rolling layers of gesso finished with customised glazes of colour that coalesce with each other. Once merged, the artist's delicate mingling of colours and materials yield an emotive surface of texture and depth. One of gesso's attributes is its ability to be applied to curved surfaces or substrates. Casting gesso in resin allows this finish to be suitable in wet environments and to still retain its tactile qualities – please contact our team to request this addition.
